The Vatican has rejected claims by Irish PM Enda Kenny that it sabotaged efforts by Irish bishops to report child-molesting priests to police.

It follows the damning Cloyne Report that showed how allegations of clerical sex-abuse in Cork had been covered up.

In a speech to parliament in July, Mr Kenny accused the Church of putting its reputation ahead of abuse victims.

The Vatican said it was “sorry and ashamed” over the scandal but said his claims were “unfounded”.

“The Holy See is deeply concerned at the findings of the commission of inquiry concerning grave failures in the ecclesiastical governance of the diocese of Cloyne,” said the Vatican, in a detailed response to the allegations.

Enda Kenny accused the Catholic Church of putting its reputation ahead of child rape victims

Mr Kenny had told the Irish parliament that the report into how allegations of sex abuse by priests in Cork had been covered up showed change was urgently needed. “The rape and torture of children were downplayed or ‘managed’ to uphold instead the primacy of the institution, its power, standing and ‘reputation’,” he said. Parliament then passed a motion deploring the Holy See for “undermining child protection frameworks” after a letter to Irish bishops appeared to diminish Irish guidelines on reporting sex abuse by referring to them as “study guidelines”.

The Obama administration in a brief to the Supreme Court has backed the Vatican’s claim of immunity from lawsuits arising from cases of sexual abuse by priests in the United States.

The Supreme Court is considering an appeal by the Vatican of an appellate court ruling that lifted its immunity in the case of an alleged pedophile priest from Oregon.

In recent months, large-scale pedophilia scandals have rocked the Roman Catholic Church in a number of countries, including Austria, Ireland, Pope Benedict XVI’s native Germany and the United States.

Senior clerics have been accused of protecting the priests involved by moving them to other parishes — where they sometimes offended again — instead of handing them over to civil authorities for prosecution.

The pope, who has himself faced allegations implicating him in the scandal, has repeatedly said priests and religious workers guilty of child abuse should answer for their crimes in courts of law.

Again, show me where it says in scripture that a disciple/elder/deacon is not to be married to hold a position in the church… i guess we will have to ignore the following:

1 tim 3:11Even so must their wives be grave, not slanderers, sober, faithful in all things.

1 tim 3:12Let the deacons be the husbands of one wife, ruling their children and their own houses well.

remember this…6But whoso shall offend one of these little ones which believe in me, it were better for him that a millstone were hanged about his neck, and that he were drowned in the depth of the sea. -mat 18:6

SANTIAGO, Chile – The Vatican’s second-highest authority says the sex scandals haunting the Roman Catholic Church are linked to homosexuality and not celibacy among priests.

Cardinal Tarcisio Bertone, the Vatican’s secretary of state, made the comments during a news conference Monday in Chile, where one of the church’s highest-profile pedophile cases involves a priest having sex with young girls.

“Many psychologists and psychiatrists have demonstrated that there is no relation between celibacy and pedophilia. But many others have demonstrated, I have been told recently, that there is a relation between homosexuality and pedophilia. That is true,” said Bertone. “That is the problem.”

At least one of the highest-profile pedophiles in the Chilean church victimized young girls, including a teenager who became pregnant.

At the time, the archbishop of the capital, Santiago, received multiple complaints about Father Jose Andres Aguirre from families concerned for their daughters. But the priest — known to his parishioners as Father Tato — continued serving at a number of Catholic girls schools in the city.

She told the Chilean newspaper La Nacion: “I thought it wasn’t that bad to have sex with him because when I told priests about it at confession they just told me to pray and that was it. They knew, and some of them guessed that it was Father Tato. But everyone looked the other way. No one corrected or helped me.”

She said one of the priests she confessed to about her sex with Aguirre was Bishop Francisco Jose Cox, who himself was facing allegations of pedophilia.

Christ? or CAESAR! ...hard to tell...

The Following is a Quote from Denzinger’s Enchiridion Symbolorum et Definitionum for those of you who are un familiar with it, it is a handbook on the sources and development of the Catholic Faith. – link here

“Whoever wishes to be saved, needs above all to hold the Catholic faith; unless each one preserves this whole and entire, he will without a doubt perish in eternity. . . This is the Catholic faith’ unless everyone believes this faithfully and firmly, he cannot be saved.” (Denzinger 39, 30)

Once again, we will have to completely ignore what  Scripture says…

Acts 4: 12Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.

Titus 3: 5Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us…

Acts 16: 31And they said, Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved, and thy house.

Why I could never be a Roman Catholic #5

According to the Bible, salvation is found in Christ.  It is not found in any church, whether it is Catholic, Protestant or any other religious system.  To follow the Roman Catholic teaching that instructs that the Church is “the fullness of the means of salvation (Para #824)” rather than Christ is obviously soul damning.

In the Catholic Church however salvation is viewed as being in the Church and through her sacraments. The Catechism of the Catholic Church claims that the sacraments are the effective means of grace that is necessary for salvation.  To put it simple, you, the Catholic person must be an active participant in the Church’s sacraments in order to receive grace in hopes of earning your salvation, yet even then it is not guaranteed.

The Catechism of the Catholic Church – Para#

#1129 “The Church affirms that for believers the sacraments of the New Covenant are necessary for salvation.

#1493 “One who desires to obtain reconciliation with God and with the Church, must confess to a priest…”

#982 “There is no offense, however serious, that the Church cannot forgive. ‘There is no one, however wicked and guilty, who may not confidently hope for forgiveness, provided his repentance is honest.’

However Scripture clearly states:

I John 1:9 If we confess our sins, he [God] is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. ”

Acts 16:31Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved, and thy house.

Mark 2:7 Why doth this man thus speak blasphemies? who can forgive sins but God only?

Men and Women of the Catholic Church are made to believe that salvation begins and ends in these rituals.  All seven rituals are substituted for the simple act of faith in Jesus Christ. Satan’s design is to replace Christ and His gospel of free grace with man’s efforts to save himself with rituals and devotion. The Roman Catholic system of merited grace is so tangled that the Lord’s commandment to simply believe must be completely ignored by them.

Once again… Why i could never be a Roman Catholic

Reason #3

VATICAN CITY — E.T. phone Rome. Four hundred years after it locked up Galileo for challenging the view that the Earth was the center of the universe, the Vatican has called in experts to study the possibility of extraterrestrial alien life and its implication for the Catholic Church.

“The questions of life’s origins and of whether life exists elsewhere in the universe are very suitable and deserve serious consideration,” said the Rev. Jose Gabriel Funes, an astronomer and director of the Vatican Observatory.

Vatican Aliens

The Roman Catholic Church’s relationship with science has come a long way since Galileo was tried as a heretic in 1633 and forced to recant his finding that the Earth revolves around the sun. Church teaching at the time placed Earth at the center of the universe.

Today top clergy, including Funes, openly endorse scientific ideas like the Big Bang theory as a reasonable explanation for the creation of the universe. The theory says the universe began billions of years ago in the explosion of a single, super-dense point that contained all matter.

Earlier this year, the Vatican also sponsored a conference on evolution to mark the 150th anniversary of Charles Darwin’s “The Origin of Species.”

The event snubbed proponents of alternative theories, like creationism and intelligent design, which see a higher being rather than the undirected process of natural selection behind the evolution of species.

The Church of Rome’s views have shifted radically through the centuries since Italian philosopher Giordano Bruno was burned at the stake as a heretic in 1600 for speculating, among other ideas, that other worlds could be inhabited.

Good thing the Church of Rome changes with the times, rearranges its self to what ever is politically correct at the time. Other wise they would have to Burn the entire Magisterium at the stake…

WHY I COULD NEVER BE A ROMAN CATHOLIC

Reason #2

The New Testament was originally written in the Greek, from which the Latin, English, and other versions were translated. If you research the Greek text you will find that the word Peter and the word Rock on which Christ was to build His church are two very separate and distinct words, thus having a different meaning. The word Peter in Greek is petros, which means “a piece of rock; a stone; a single stone; movable, insecure, shifting, or rolling.” The word rock is petra, which means “a rock; a cliff; a projecting rock; mother rock; huge mass; solid formation; fixed; immovable; enduring.”

Matthew 16:18, 19

  • 18And I say also unto thee, that thou art Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.
  • 19And I will give unto thee the keys of the kingdom of heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt bind on earth shall be bound in heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven.

The following is a commentary from the Catholic Encyclopedia at www.newadvent.org on the above passage Mathew 16:18:

  • Upon this rock, etc… The words of Christ to Peter, spoken in the vulgar language of the Jews which our Lord made use of, were the same as if he had said in English, Thou art a Rock, and upon this rock I will build my church. So that, by the plain course of the words, Peter is here declared to be the rock, upon which the church was to be built…

Obviously the RCC thinks differently

POPE

The article in Greek is important. If one noun is in the masculine it must have a masculine article, and if it is in the feminine it must have a feminine article. The text under consideration in the Greek shows that petros is in the masculine, and petra in the feminine, proving that they are two distinct words; and each one has a different meaning. Now the question is, on which of the two, petros or petra, did Christ establish His church? Was it on petros, a movable stone, or petra, an immovable rock?

18And I say also unto thee [to Peter], that thou art Peter [petros, masculine gender], and upon this rock [petra, feminine gender] I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.

Now, who is this petra or rock on which Christ built His true church? Let the Holy Bible again give the answer. If the Bible gives the answer, we make no mistake in accepting it because the definition is authentic.

1 Corinthians 10:4

  • 4And did all drink the same spiritual drink: for they drank of that spiritual Rock that followed them: and that Rock [petra, in the Greek] was Christ.

Here we have evidence that petra refers to Christ, and not to Peter, petros.

If Peter is the rock on which Christ was to build His church, Peter could not be overcome and the gates of hell could not prevail against him. But the fact is that he was overcome, and the gates of hell did prevail against him. Didn’t he deny his Lord? This was after Christ told him that the Rock was not to be overcome. Jesus told Peter:

  • 23But he turned, and said unto Peter, Get thee behind me, Satan: thou art an offence unto me: for thou savourest not the things that be of God, but those that be of men.

Peter himself gives the answer as to who the Rock is. He says Jesus is “the Christ, the Son of the living God” (Matt. 16:16). Again, speaking of Christ, he says: “This is the stone which was set at nought of you builders” (Acts 4:10-11); so Christ, the Son of God, must be the rock on which God built His church.

It is becoming very clear that if Jesus would have built His church on Peter, petros, He would have said: “Thou art Petros, and upon this Petros [or upon it] I will build My church,”. If Jesus delegated Peter as the head of the church, why did the other disciples quarrel among themselves as to who would be the greatest (Luke 9:46)? If this decision had already been made by Christ, why should the others fret about it?

Why is there not a Trace of evidence in the Bible that Peter was a pope? Peter wrote two epistles, but he does not use the title of pope in either. Could you imagine a pope today writing two letters to the church and forgetting his title? The church in the days of the apostles did not recognize Peter as pope or the head of the church. Neither does the true church today.

WHY I COULD NEVER BE ROMAN CATHOLIC

REASON #1

Catholic Catechism #841    The Church’s relationship with the Muslims. “The plan of salvation also includes those who acknowledge the Creator, in the first place amongst whom are Muslims; these profess to hold the faith of Abraham, and together with us they adore the one, merciful God, mankind’s judge on the last day.” #843 …The Catholic Church recognizes in other religions that search for the God who is unknown…the Church considers all goodness and truth found in these religions…

WOW did you just hear what I heard? First of all, anybody doing their research on Islam will find out without digging very deep that Allah was actually an old Moon God that has its roots in just about every ancient civilization.( i.e.  Assyrian, Babylonian, Akkadian, Egyptian). It Just happen to be Muhammad’s favorite at the time. In Arabic the word for God is “Ilah” not “allah”, so who is this Allah that the Roman Catholic Church (RCC) considers the same God? And why do they consider all the goodness and truth found in other religions if the acknowledge the Creator? We know Muslims, Mormons, Jehovah’s Witnesses, and Buddhists all recognize that there is one God /Creator right?  And that there included in salvation because of this???  Let’s look at scripture…

  • Rom 10:14) how then shall they call on him in whom they have not believed? And how shall they believe in him of whom they have not heard? And how shall they hear without a preacher?
  • Rom 10:15) And how shall they preach, except they be sent? As it is written, how beautiful are the feet of them that preach the gospel of peace, and bring glad tidings of good things!
  • Rom 10:17) so then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.
  • Math 24:14) And this Gospel of the Kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations; and then the end shall come.

We know that there is one God, and we know the Gospel he left for us, do we not? So that means all other gods & gospels are of what? Are of whom? All you have to do is pick up your Bible and read who this deceiver is and who he is deceiving, Jesus put it in plain view…

Math 24:4,5,11,24; Mark 13:5,6; Rev 20:3,8, 18:23, 19:20, 20:10 …take head that no man deceive you…many will come in my name, saying , I am Christ, and shall deceive many… Satan shall be loosed from his prison and shall go out to deceive the nations…many false prophets will arise and deceive many…for many deceivers are entered the world…this is a deceiver and an antichrist…

pope John Paul II with Patriarch Raphael I of Iraq, kissing the "holy qur'an"

pope John Paul II with Patriarch Raphael I of Iraq, kissing the "holy qur'an"

The Qur’an and Islam are not of God, so that means they are of Satan does it not? So how is it that the RCC puts “Satan” the god of the Qur’an and “Jehovah” the God of the Bible together as “The Creator” the one true God??? If all other religions are of Satan for he is the “great counterfeit” how is it that they would even begin to contemplate to “consider all goodness and truth” found in these??? Nothing Satan does is “good” nothing he presents is “truth”, if the RCC has been deceived here, were else have they been deceived???
